I am really proud to announce formally our affiliate membership of the Great Britain Precision Rifle Asssociation (‘GBPRA’) and our particpation in their upcoming PR22 competitions! In fact, I have the joy of being one of the organisers! Information on the GBPRA and the PR22 can be found here.
This will be a dedicated .22LR competition, and will be set over 6 events running up to the summer, with a grand finale to be held at Bisley in September for the top shooters accross the country. Each affiliate member club, so this includes us, will be able to send our best 5 to take part as both individuals and as a team to compete not only for the honour but some excellent prizes!
Each Course of Fire (‘CoF’) will be issued nearer to the date of each event, and each club will undertake the same CoF to ensure consistency. Due to this being the first year, and the limitations some clubs have, the distances will not be more than 50m – but of course, we will be using smaller targets to compensate! We shall soon be receiving the custom designed steel target set to be used for this comp, being provided courtesy of the GBPRA for free to the club.
If you would like to take part, but don’t have a suitable .22, then do not worry – the club has a bolt action CZ and people will also be more than welcome to use mine, and I am sure I am not alone in this offer. The cost of entry will be £10 per event, but you wont have to attend all events to qualify. Scores will be averaged and so long as you have attended at least 3 events, you will be up for qualification to the team.

- Round 3: Saturday 26th March 2022
- Round 4: Sunday 24th April 2022
- Round 5: Saturday 21st May 2022
- Round 6: Saturday 18th June 2022
As this competition will also be open to non-club members, booking will not be via our usual booking methods. If you would like to book on, then please email me which dates you would like to attend, and i will confirm your booking and send further instructions. As we will also be running the stages all day, and I plan on squadding you all so you don’t have to wait around all day, please also let me know if you have any specific time requirements. I obviously cannot guarantee I can match them, but will do my best!
