The club held its first shoot using our new, fancy, MoD range licences on the 5th May 2021. Attended by 21 shooters, including a couple of guests, the weather held out (most of the time) and an enjoyable day was had by all engaging the targets at 200, 300 and 600m using everything from old 7.92’s and .303’s to new fangled calibres such as 6.5 Creedmoors.
Even better was the fact we were able to use the MoD’s new SARTS (electronic) targets meaning there was no butt duty for anyone, with the targets falling each time they were hit and the shot placement showing on a tablet computer. Despite some techinical issues with the targets, this being an MoD system after all, feedback was extremely positive.
Here’s to our next MoD day at Rogiet Moor on the 31st July 2021 – watch this space!
